Wash Bay Prep Technician – Alexandria, LAThe Wash Bay Appearance Prep Tech role operates under the direction of others to perform basic duties related to the daily production and operations of the truck wash bay in a manner that ensures schedules, quality and production while projecting a professional company image.Essential FunctionsTracks labor costs per unit to assist in the costing of remanufactured goods.Cleans vehicles for pictures, mechanical service, paint & body service and/or delivery to customer.Uses high pressure hoses to spray vehicles to remove dirt and grease to required standards.Scrub, scrape, or spray machine parts, equipment, or vehicles with scrapers, brushes, cloth, cleaners, disinfectants, insecticides, acids, abrasives, vacuums, or hoses.Inspect parts, equipment, or vehicles for cleanliness, damage and compliance with standards.Details vehicles as directed.Operates cleaning machines as necessary.Mixes cleaning solutions or abrasive compositions according to formulas.Rinses objects and places them on drying racks or uses cloth, squeegees, or air compressors to dry surfaces.Maintains tools, equipment and shop area to ensure availability and functionality within a safe work area.Maintains a safe and organized work area to limit risk of accidents or injuries.Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.Job RequirementsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED.1 year experience in a similar role or certification from a recognized training program or accredited trade school.Key TraitsDetail oriented and accurate.Adaptable to changing work priorities.Meets deadlines and schedules.Sets priorities and maintains effective workflows.Works extended or standard hours.Active listener with proven ability to give full attention to others, ask questions, and not interrupt.Skills and ToolsMechanical knowledge of basic machines and tools, including design, use, repair, and maintenance.Basic knowledge or ability to learn use of common trade tools.Power buffers, buffing machines, machine polishers, portable buffers, power washers, and scrubbers.Production and ProcessingKnowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacture and distribution of goods.Mental / Physical RequirementsPositive attitude and willingness to maintain a professional demeanor with clients and team members.Attendance – must work 6:00 am–2:30 pm, Monday–Friday plus any additional hours/days necessary.Work may be performed under extreme temperature variations and hazardous conditions both indoors and outdoors.Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling; must climb and balance on/off trucks, ladders and platforms of heights above 42 in, significant stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling throughout an 8–12 hour day and up to 60 hours per week.Must safely operate equipment at heights up to and exceeding 100 ft.Must be able to listen, understand spoken information, and communicate effectively and professionally.Additional physical capabilities include manual dexterity, near vision, trunk strength, arm‑hand steadiness, lifting up to 50 lbs.Benefits401(k) with Employer MatchCompetitive Health CareDental, Vision, and Life InsurancePaid Vacation, Sick and HolidaysSTD/LTDPartner DiscountsInvestment in Employee DevelopmentTuition ReimbursementCustom Truck One Source provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.#J-18808-Ljbffr
